UP Education – Multi-Level Refurbishment

Overview

Harrier Construction was engaged by UP Education to deliver a comprehensive refurbishment across eight floors at 360 Queen Street, Auckland. Timed to align with the summer shutdown period, the project required a tightly coordinated delivery within a condensed programme. Working in the heart of the CBD introduced additional logistical and access constraints, calling for a considered and highly organised approach.

The refurbishment refreshed existing learning environments while introducing specialist training spaces – designed to reflect a professional setting and support practical learning.

Delivery

The project was shaped by sequencing and coordination rather than scale alone. With multiple floors progressing simultaneously, careful planning ensured the works were integrated smoothly within a live building and shared access environment.

Close collaboration with UP Education, consultants, and the landlord supported clear decision-making and consistency across the floors. Health and safety remained central to delivery, informing both programme structure and day-to-day site management. Throughout, attention was given not only to the completed spaces, but to the protection and reinstatement of existing assets – recognising the importance of continuity as well as change.

Outcome

The completed refurbishment provides a cohesive, contemporary environment that supports both teaching and hands-on training. Delivered through disciplined planning and measured execution, the project enabled a seamless return to use for the academic year ahead.

The result reflects Harrier Construction’s ability to manage complex refurbishments with clarity and confidence – balancing detail and oversight to enhance an existing asset while delivering spaces that are practical, durable, and fit for purpose.
